Mallacoota

Foreshore Campground.
Campground.
Mallacoota Inlet.

Mallacoota, Victoria's most easterly "town" is the place to go to just kick back and "smell the roses".

However this is definitely not the place for us in any of the "Holiday times" as it gets very crowded and looses so much of its appeal.

We stay on the waterfront at the foreshore Caravan Park right at the end of the main street.  It is reasonably priced and has basic clean amenities.

The town, just a couple of hundred metres away, is well serviced with all one could want.

Naturally the main attraction is fishing and boating, but who can resist just sitting back and watching the waterbirds, particularly the Pelican.

Nearby there is Croajingolong National Park to the west, and Coopracambra National Park to the north.

A short drive to Shipwreck Creek where there is a wonderful beach and a good walk through a heath lands if you want some exercise.

There is plenty to see and do, with a number of boat operators after your business whether it be for fishing trips or just a cruise around the inlet.

Off season, Mallacoota is the place to just lay back and relax.
